Oatmeal Dragon Fruit Banana Smoothie

This breakfast smoothie is tasty, nutrient packed, and very filling. I love using frozen pink dragon fruit but you can switch it out for strawberries as well. Add protein powder or collagen for an extra protein boost, or enjoy it without. And add superfoods such as hemp hearts and chia seeds for a nutrient boost.

What you will need:

  • Frozen bananas

  • Frozen dragon fruit or strawberries

  • Dairy free vanilla yogurt

  • Dairy free milk of your choice

  • Quick oat

  • Hemp hearts

  • Chia seeds

  • Dairy free protein or collagen of your choice

I like to add my oatmeal and milk to the blender cup and let the oats soak for about 10-15 minutes to let them soften. Then I add the other ingredients and blend until smooth.

Ingredients

[Serves 1]

1/4 cup quick oats

3/4 cup vanilla almond milk

1/3 cup dairy free vanilla yogurt

1 medium frozen banana (about 100 grams)

1/2 cup frozen dragon fruit or strawberries (about 50-60 grams)

Optional:

1 serving collagen OR 1 serving vegan vanilla protein powder of your choice (I like Nuzest)

1/2 tsp chia seeds

1 Tbsp hemp hearts

Directions

  1. Start by adding your oats to the blender cup along with the milk. Let it sit for about 10-15 minutes to soak for smoother blending.

  2. Add the rest of your ingredients to the blender. You can choose to add the chia seeds and hemp hearts, they add lots of nutrients and additional filling fiber. You can also choose to add protein powder or collagen. I personally like to use collagen. If you are using protein powder you may need to add a touch more milk.

  3. Blend everything until smooth and enjoy!
