This cocktail is the taste of Fall, it is perfect for sipping on by the campfire. There is an apple base with hints of orange, bourbon, marshmallow, and vanilla.

I recommend using a slightly higher quality bourbon for the best flavor. You will also need orange bitters, and for bonus bright orange flavor, orange essential oil. Apple juice or apple cider is the base of this drink, you can choose which you would like to use.

Vanilla and marshmallow gives this cocktail a fun "campfire" flavor. I like to use the Watkins vanilla powder for a richer flavor, I found this in the spices section at Walmart. Or you can use vanilla extract.

You must use the JetPuffed Mallow Bits (dehydrated marshmallows) for this recipe, they will dissolve into the bourbon unlike normal marshmallows.

Start by adding your bourbon to your drink shaker or glass. Then add your dehydrated marshmallows bits and stir until they dissolve completely.

Next add your apple juice or apple cider. Try my Mulled Cider recipe.

Lastly, add your orange bitters, orange oil, and vanilla powder or extract. Stir everything well.

I like to use large round ice cubes for this cocktail, but you can use regular ice cubes. Pour your beverage and let the ice melt slightly for a more diluted drink.

Garnish with toasted marshmallows, dehydrated or fresh oranges, apple slices, or serve as is.

Sip on your tasty Fall concoction!

Ingredients

[Makes 1]

1/2 cup apple juice OR apple cider (see my Mulled Cider recipe)

1-2 ounces bourbon of your choice, choose your strength (I recommend Bulliet)

1 Tbsp Jet-Puffed Mallow Bits (mini dehydrated marshmallows, must be these in order to dissolve)

2-3 drops orange essential oil

1/4 tsp orange bitters

1/4 tsp vanilla powder (recommended for best results--Watkins brand found at Walmart) OR 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Start by adding your bourbon to a shaker or glass. Choose your strength, using 1 or 2 ounces. Then add your mallow bits. Stir or let it sit until the mallow bits are completely dissolved.

  2. Next add your apple juice or apple cider.

  3. Add your drops of orange essential oil, orange bitters, and vanilla powder or extract.

  4. Stir everything well.

  5. Add ice to your glass.

  6. Pour your drink over your ice.

  7. Garnish with toasted marshmallows, an orange wedge, dehydrated orange slice, or apple slice. Enjoy!
