Eating the recommended amount of vegetables is hard, especially greens! Green smoothies are my favorite way to ensure I'm getting the nutrients I need. This smoothie is tart, sweet, and does not taste earthy or green. It is low in sugar and calories, and high in a variety of vitamins and minerals with only a few ingredients.
Blend all the ingredients in a high powered blender until totally smooth and enjoy this refreshing drink!
1 cup frozen pineapple
1/4 cup diced frozen avocado or about 1/4 of a fresh avocado
1 large handful of spinach or power greens mix*
1/4 fresh lime juiced or 1 Tbsp concentrate
1/4 fresh lemon juiced or 1 Tbsp concentrate
3/4 cup water
3-4 ice cubes
Start by juicing your lemon and lime or measure out your concentrate and add them to your blender.
Now add your pineapple, avocado, ice cubes and water.
Lastly add your greens on top.
Blend everything until totally smooth.
Garnish with a lemon and lime wedge and enjoy!
*I find my power greens mix at Costco, it has kale, spinach, and swiss chard for a great mix of nutrients.
